Groups Rates: £6.00 for adults, £3.00 for children. Minimum group size 20.
Facilities: 56 acre arboretum, Garden Shop and Plant Centre, Gift Shop, Garden Terrace cafe, Cotswold Falconry
Centre and Cotswold Archery. Dogs are welcome in the arboretum and visitor centre on a short lead.
Disabled Access: Partial access to the arboretum. Disabled toilets and parking, wheelchairs available on loan. ‘Trampers’ (electric scooters) are also available. Please call us for more information and to pre-book.
Tours/Events: We are happy to arrange tours for groups. Please contact us for more information.

Did you know that Batsford Arboretum is a conservation and education charity?

If you are a UK tax payer and you make a donation that is 10% more than the admission, the government will give us 25p for every £1 of your entrance fee. It’s called a gift aid visit and it makes a massive difference to us and our vital conservation work.

The visitor centre – where you’ll find our Cafe, Garden Centre and Gift Shop – is completely free to come and have a look around, enjoy a meal or browse our beautiful gifts. The only part of Batsford you have to pay to go into is the Arboretum.

Getting here

By car

Batsford Arboretum & Garden Centre is located just a mile and a half from the historic Cotswold market town of Moreton-in-Marsh. Our entrance is on Bourton Road/along the A44 (towards/from Bourton on the Hill) – look out for brown directional signs as you approach us from either direction.

For driving directions to Moreton, and enter your postcode.

If using SATNAV, please use the postcode GL56 9AD which takes you towards Fenhill Close in Bourton-on-the-Hill, approx. 350 yards from our entrance – look out for our red flags.

Please note: There is NO access from Batsford Village.

Free car parking is available to all visitors, with disabled parking for blue badge holders in front of the main entrance to the visitor centre.

By train

First Great Western operates train services between London Paddington and Evesham, Worcester and Hereford via Oxford and Moreton-in-Marsh, the journey time is approx. 1 hour 40 minutes from London to Moreton. Local taxis often meet the London trains but it may be better to book in advance.

By bus

There are regular buses to Moreton-in-Marsh from Cheltenham direction on the 801 Pulham’s Coaches service. The 1 and 2 Johnsons Excelbus services from Stratford Upon Avon drops passengers at the end of our drive from Moreton. The service takes about 5 minutes, but please bear in mind you’ll have to walk up the mile long drive.

By taxi

By bicycle

We are easily accessible by bicycle from the direction of Moreton-in-Marsh or Bourton-on-the-Hill along the A44. Please note that cycling within the Arboretum is not permitted, we ask all cyclists to leave their bikes in the bike racks provided outside the main entrance to our visitor centre. Please note: There is NO access from Batsford Village.

Walking

You can walk from Moreton-in-Marsh via the Monarch’s Way (about 1.7 miles). This picturesque footpath takes around 35 minutes and brings you right up to the Arboretum.

At the heart of the Visitor Centre you’ll find the Garden Terrace Café – a great place to catch up with friends for morning coffee or lunch, or to indulge in one of our sumptuous cakes with afternoon tea! Why not enjoy your meal from our lovely terrace overlooking the Plant Centre – a great place to soak up the atmosphere and the sun. Don’t forget to pick up one of our loyalty cards to get a free coffee or tea!

Opening times

We are open Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 5pm, Saturday 9.30am to 5pm and from 10am to 5pm on Sundays.

Breakfast is served until 11.00am with hot lunches available from 12 to 2pm.

Paninis, soup and a huge range of cakes are available throughout the day.

We’re delighted to be able to offer our customers free Wifi so you can sit back, enjoy your snack and browse the internet at the same time.

Fresh food everyday

Everything is freshly-baked on the premises each day using locally-sourced produce wherever possible and we offer three home-baked hot dishes every lunchtime – one meat, one fish and one vegetarian option all served with a choice of vegetables or salad.

Please note we are unable to take table reservations in the cafe.
